BECAH is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Lurgan, who swapped open mic nights at local bars to sharing bills with the likes of Brian Kennedy and Aslan. Growing up, she wrote poems and stories until she discovered music.
The release of her song “Ghost” gained traction among various Irish music blogs, and she is gearing up to release an EP for the summer and has already started working on her debut album.
She talks about how growing up in Lurgan has shaped her own song writing, the music scene in Lurgan and how it has encouraged her, despite not having the same opportunities as Belfast. The importance of performing, and how this has been made surreal by livestreamed performances via Zoom.
