‘Sons & Daughters of Derry’ close Walled City Music Festival on St. Patrick’s Day

The 15th edition of the Walled City Music Festival culminated in a special event celebrating the musical ‘Sons and Daughters of Derry’ on St. Patrick’s Day. 

The event, which featured successful singers and musicians born in Derry~Londonderry, took place at Christ Church and brought the four-day festival to a close.

Co-artistic director of the festival, internationally renowned pianist Cathal Breslin, accompanied each of the performers on stage. 

He said that the event was about celebrating the range of musical talent from the city. 

Around 150 spectators enjoyed performances including classical pieces, musical theatre favourites and Irish-themed tracks.  

Performers included soprano Margaret Keys, tenor George Hutton, cellist Kim Vaughan and saxophonist Gerard McChrystal.
