On the 30th of October in Newcastle County Down at the Burrendale hotel I attended their
“Spooktacular Halloween” event. This miraculous event started at 6pm and was swamped with
explosive excitement throughout from children, teens, adults and even seniors. Upon arrival the
public was greeted by a tall, peculiar figure who had been lurking among this fear filled site accompanied by their fellow stilt walkers, the smell of fried food and hot chocolate invaded everyone’s air ways from the second their feat hit the crisp grass among the bushes.

As everyone walked through the herds of people
venturing among a spooky themed building with
murderous crime scenes, car wreckages and an
overwhelming number of fake skeletons. The
building was brim-full of joyous faces encapsulated
with the atmosphere around them the air was
consumed with laughter as people made their way
to the hot food stands, the taste of the scrupulous
fried burgers and fried onions melted on the
publics tongue.
After this the citizens gathered around the hot chocolate stand and had one of the best hot chocolates in their lives with creams and marshmallows on top, everyone felt as though they were reliving their childhood years with the thoughts and feelings that were accumulated within the public, surrounded by a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere from those of all ages.
Finally, as the anticipation was upon everyone, we
knew the end of the event was near, with the closing
of an array of kaleidoscopic colours in the sky, ebullient
gasps were close and the brightness of everyone’s eyes
was closing in. As everyone all congregated to witness
this bewildering display suddenly the first firework of
this display exploded, better than previous years the
crowd was staggering due to the marvellous colours;
blue, silver, gold, purple, pink… they had it all. As the
finale was here the last firework blew up the sky full of
stars with hypnotising colours and the crowd cheered.

The attenders all walked in a melancholy manner as they knew this event was over for another year.
